The SAP Sapphire 2025 conference took place from May 19–21 in Orlando, Florida. SAP used the event to showcase a transformative vision for enterprise AI. At the center of this vision is Joule — SAP's AI copilot. Joule is quickly becoming a built-in assistant across the entire SAP ecosystem. With more than 18,000 attendees, the event made one thing clear: SAP is focused on embedding AI into business processes to boost productivity and stability. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through what you shouldn’t miss — new Joule integrations across SAP products, improvements based on user feedback, and powerful features coming soon.

Joule goes everywhere

SAP is making Joule a constant companion across its entire product landscape and beyond. The goal is simple: create one seamless AI experience no matter which SAP or third-party cloud app you’re using. Joule helps users quickly find the right data, uncover insights in real time, and speed up daily tasks. With AI built into every step of the process, productivity goes up, and using AI becomes second nature.

Joule and Microsoft 365 Copilot

SAP is also teaming up with Microsoft to connect Joule with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This two-way integration means users will be able to tap into Joule’s capabilities directly from Microsoft 365 tools like Outlook or Teams — and vice versa.

The first phase of this integration will be available in Q2 2025, with full functionality expected by Q3 2025.

Smarter, always-on Joule with new action bar

SAP takes Joule to the next level with a new action bar. Instead of waiting for users to ask questions, Joule will now offer proactive suggestions exactly when and where they are needed. Whether you're checking budgets or emailing a supplier, Joule will be ready to step in with helpful insights. This always-on assistant will become available by Q3 2025.

Powered by WalkMe technology, the new action bar learns from how users work and the context around them — inside SAP and even third-party cloud apps. It uses this knowledge to offer real-time help tailored to the task at hand. That means less searching, fewer clicks, and faster decisions.

Smarter answers with SAP and Perplexity AI

SAP is teaming up with Perplexity AI to help users get fast, accurate answers even to complex business questions. This new integration connects internal SAP data with trusted external sources, making Joule’s responses richer and more relevant.

With this upgrade, users can ask questions and get complete, context-aware answers that combine what’s happening inside their SAP systems with real-world signals from outside.
